A: The transition from steady pedaling to full sprint gets slightly slower when moving the cleats back, as the calf muscles are less available for explosive work. This explosive transition is only important for competitive road cycling. Also be very careful when cornering. The adapters bring your toes closer to the front wheel. Always keep the pedals in vertical position when cornering.

A: We think you guys in the TdF peloton already do the right thing and have your cleats in the right place for your kind of race. A TdF sprinter-specialist is likely to miss some explosive power if he cannot fully mobilize his calves in a split second. Also the other TdF riders must to be able to follow the dynamics of a peloton: When a gap suddenly forms and has to be closed on an climb, then it requires the calves' full power to be available in an instant.

A: You should at least give it a try. A triathlete's game is VERY different from Tour de France: 1) Steady, predictable pace for hours. 2) Extreme focus on aerodynamics 3) Run immediately afterwards.
Triathletes already do a lot of costly bike modifications to make their gear optimal for their specific game: Aerobar allowed + a more vertical frame + integrated hydration systems + fast lace shoes + nice wheels + special clothing.

A: Although the stack height increases around 3mm when installing the Mid-Foot adapters, most athletes end up lowering their seatpost. The reason is that a mid-foot position leads to less movement in the foot joint. We suggest you make no changes to cockpit and saddle before your riding style has adjusted to the new ergonomics. After a few training sessions you will likely find it comfortable and efficient to lower your seat post around 5-8mm. We do not yet have any scientific knowledge in this field though, and results are likely to be very individual. 5-8mm is only a small change, but it can't hurt aerodynamics:-)
Q: Will I have to adjust anything on my cockpit, e.g cockpit height?

A: When in doubt, then yes. Bike-fitters are magicians and may discover more improvements and adjustments than can be listed here.
