PEDALS FOR triathlon and Time Trial
A new class of pedals
Meet the world's first pedals optimized for triathlon.
Triathlon cycling/TT is NOT like classic road cycling. In triathlon/TT, a low drag is paramount, as well as your ability to maintain a high, steady power output.
Classic pedals are jacks of all trades, fine for road cycling, but designed for a different, more unsteady game than triathlon.
The new TT24 pedal is a game-changer.
it all adds up!
The TT24 pedals are lighter, lower, and more aero than any other pedals.
Further, they add some ergonomic benefits to your pedalling, and enable you to reduce overall body drag.
1 aerodynamics
We have a background in aerospace engineering, so this is our home turf. Starting the design from blank-sheet enabled us to iteratively run CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) as the designs evolved. This ensured a superb overall pedal shape.
We thereafter benchmarked the TT24 Pedals against the competition in our inhouse windtunnel.
TT24 has 21% less drag than SpeedPlay Aero, 48% less drag than Shimano Ultegra, and 51% less drag than Look Keo Carbon.
These are not the only CdA savings you'll get. The TT24 pedals also enable improvements for the overall body aerodynamics.
2 weight
These are the world's lightest pedals AND the world's lightest cleats.
One pedal: 74gram / 2,6 Oz.
One cleat: 9 gram / 0,31 Oz.
Weight weenies can do the comparaison. This is obscenely light.
3 stack height
These pedals are low! The cleat is embedded inside the pedal's body, when clicked in. Other pedals have the cleat between the pedal and the shoe.
The stack height is only 9mm, instantly lowering you 3-7mm depending on which pedals you use today.
4 body aerodynamics
Did you know that the pedal spindle position and seat post height are correllated?
The reason is that a rearward spindle position move shortens the pedal-to-heel distance and thus shortens the lever the calves have to balance. This relieves the calves, reduces your tendency to toe-down, which lowers your heels, and enables a lower seat post.
As a rule-of-thumb, a rearward cleat move is accompanied by a lowering of the seat post by roughly 75% of the distance the cleat is moved.
We have designed the pedals for a 20mm/0,78in more rearward pedal spindle position than any other pedal.
This will typically result in a 15mm / 0,6in lowering of the seat post, a reduced frontal area, and a reduced CdA.
5 bike-to-run transition
Sparing your calves is crucial for your bike-to-run transition.
A rearward spindle location shortens the pedal-to-heel distance and thus shortens the lever the calves have to balance. This relieves the calves, keeping them juicy for the last part of your race day.
6 efficient muscle use
Think of your calves and Achilles tendons as stabilizers, not as power generators.
In triathlon, your cycling power comes from the glutes and the upper leg, not from the calves. If your calves have to work hard, then your TT setup is not efficient.
Thiw is one more reason for a rearward spindle locatoin. A 20mm rearward move reduces the pedal-to-heel distance by 15-20%, and so reduces the calves' work load by 15-20%.
Sparing the calves frees energy and oxygen for more net pedal power.
7 seated power
Whenever you stand up, you lose energy due to increased drag, so stay seated whenever possible.
A rearward spindle location allows you to generate more power seated, and thus to stay seated and aero on markedly steeper climbs than before.
8 Bike fit options
The TT24 pedals' rearward spindle location and the subsequent ½ inch / 10-15mm seat post lowering will open your hip angle by 3-7 degrees.
This improves body comfort and eases your respiration.
Enjoy the improved comfort - or lower your cockpit/tribars for a further CdA improvement.
9 recovery
Triathletes train a lot. No kidding. We must be careful about the wear we put on our bodies. One of our focus points is to protect our tendons and joints. The better we take care of these, the longer we can enjoy our sport - and the more frequent we can go cycling.
The Achilles tendon and the heel joint are fragile areas, so a rearward spindle location for relieving the Achilles tendons is a good idea.
10 pedal area
It is common for cyclists and triathletes to suffer from localized foot-pain, known as hot spots or metatarsalgia. The main reason for this is pedal pressure directly onto the metatarsal tendons and nerves in the front foot.
The PatroCleats TT24 pedals are designed for preventing these problems. 1) The pedal's support area is HUGE, 890mm2, way above any other clipless pedal, distributing all forces over a larger area. loped for treating this specific problem. 2) The rearward spindle location removes pressure from the front foot - greatly improving comfort and endurance.
11 pedal Core
The pedal spindle is Grade5 Titanium, protected by a lip seal and assembled with Ceramic Speed grease.
Inside rests two needle bearings and a ball bearing. By doubling the needle bearings, we distribute the pedal force better than other brands. This ensures longevity and a solid power transfer.

What athletes think
"I was actually thinking of giving up cycling this year because whats the point of doing the sport that I love doing and suffer every single time after doing it. Until I came across your mid foot adapter. I am very glad I've taken the chance and tried it. Got the product on the 10th, installed it and used on my bike using an indoor trainer. Not only that I was able to hold my cadence at zone 3 for over an hour, 1:20 to be exact. But its the first time ever that I had no pain or soreness on the problematic spot after getting on the bike. Change my mind, I'm keeping my bike and continue on enjoying cycling. Thank you very much, I'm really really glad I've pressed the order button.!"
"I have been using these on the turbo for 6 months and outside for 3 months. As a triathlete with a history of ankle injuries this has worked wonders for me, I can now run off the bike with no ankle pain and all my runs feel easier. Haven't had any loss in power or speed on the bike."
"Just wanted to say thanks, the second set arrived and after a week of rides I am really happy! They work so well for my ankles which have old football injuries . Thank you. I will be getting another set for my other shoes soon!"
"These cleat adapters have changed my life. First ride I did an extra 40 miles pain free no pins and needles. Truly remarkable. Thank you so much"
"Recieved the adapter, tried and tested. What a difference with my fizik shoes that are known to have too far forward cleat placement. thanks again."
"Thank you so much. They’ve actually made a massive difference to my tendonitis so will be spreading the word,"
